Valentine’s Day Crochet Patterns
I like the pattern very much.
Easy for me, and so fun to do! This pattern was fairly straight-forward. However, if you're a beginner, just go slower and think through the instructions carefully. Here's a tip for the last row (the "twist" stitch): you will be turning your entire hook...all the way around (with the two loops on the hook). It's tight, so keep them loose. Other than that, it was super easy to understand. It makes a beautiful heart. I didn't have to use water or a book...I just pulled it here and there a little, to "shape" it.

The pattern is very clearly and well written with lots of pictures to help along the way. It includes a sort version for those more advanced and a longer version with pictures for those starting out. I made mine in a moving car on the way to a wedding party as a gift and I didn’t get a chance to block it but it turned out perfectly. I used 2mm braided macramé rope and a 4mm hook.
In general, I was happy with this pattern, but there were some gaps in how to do some steps, such as working around the edge. The “Twisted Single Crochet” gave me a turn, until I realized that it is better known, by many crocheters, as the “Reverse Single Crochet”.

This is a truly one-of-a-kind pattern—unlike anything else I’ve seen on Etsy—and I was able to crochet it successfully on my first try. Stitch markers at the beginning of each row were a big help, as some stitches almost disappear. I absolutely love the twisted single crochet stitch—a new technique for me, even after 55+ years of crocheting (the video tutorial was very helpful!). I think I should have picked up more single crochets on the first round . . . next time. The digital pattern is clear, easy to follow and well-illustrated, with images that clearly demonstrate each technique. Highly recommend.
